MOXXI System Functionalities

Is the system available for all patients?

No, the system is available only for consenting patients.

How often are the drug profiles updated?

Data from the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec is updated daily.

How often are the drug knowledge databases updated?

Once a month.

Is the medication displayed in by generic or trademark names in the drug profile?

Medication is displayed as set in the preferences module.

Will private information from the pharmacies and from the physicians be shared with the Régie de l'Assurance Maladie du Québec?

No.

How does the drug profile work for patients who are not insured by the Provincial Prescription Drug Insurance Plan?

The drug profile stores all prescriptions the physician writes using the MOXXI system and detects interactions and contraindications. The physician will not have access to information on medication prescribed by other physicians.

Can the physician print his patient's problem list?

Yes.

Can the physician print his patient's drug profile?

Yes.

Patient participation

Will patients under the age of 18 be able to participate?

Yes, if a parent or guardian signs the consent form.

If a patient has already signed a consent form with a participating physician, must he consent again if he wants another participating physician to have access to his data?

It is not necessary to obtain consent for a patient who has already signed a consent form if both physicians practice in the same clinic. If the patient has signed a consent form with a physician from a different clinic, a second consent form must be signed. 

Can a "walk-in" patient participate?

Yes.
